July 20th - win or go home day at Gothia Cup

It's Thursday at Gothia cup and all teams still playing are in elimination mode, win and continue, lose and go home.

Girls start us off and even though they are beat up, they play very well against a Swedish team. Game ends in a tie and off to PKs and Bree saves 2 to help us advance to the next round.

Boys A next up as they also play against a Swedish team, a very good team and we lose 3-0.  Cup is over but played well as the week went on.

Boys C get to play at team from Ireland and with the confidence of the win yesterday, they play well and win 3-1 to advance.

Girls grab lunch, rest at the fields, lick their wounds and then play another Swedish team.  They are too much for us as we lose 2-0 but so proud of the girls and the grit they showed being so beat up. 

Boys C end the long day by kicking off their last game at 9:15 pm against a team from Chile.  Great atmosphere and a good game but we fall 2-0 and our Gothia Cup run for Stars 'n Stripes officially ends.  Great week and kids are exhausted.  I think Friday we plan some fun, watch games, amusement park, etc.

Kids all miss home, some not so much, others a bit but all are busy and having a blast.
