July 17th - 1st day of Gothia Cup

Loving Sweden especially since the kids have their own bed and private shower as our Hotel Odin has 4 kids to a room.  Heaven as some of the kids called it.  Breakfast and Dinner are both at the hotel and the quality is first class so absolutely no complaints about food at all.

Now to the games as rough day for Stars 'n Stripes.  Its a bit cold and rainy and to be honest we are very sore and tired from a very long week in Denmark and it showed.

Boys A - game vs Norwegian team, lost 1-0

Boys C - game vs Swedish team, lost 3-0

Girls - game vs Swedish team, lost 4-0

Boys B - game vs Swedish team, lost 2-1

tough results but we wash our uniforms, lick our wounds, have a great dinner and then get ready for one of the best experiences of their lives.  We are representing the USA in the opening ceremonies of the Gothia Cup, a great honor.  Kids are stoked.  We have cowboy hats, American flags and we have PJ dressed as Uncle Sam and Ella dressed at the Statue of Liberty.  I hope all had a chance to see on livestream or social media as it was spectacular.  Kids traded for everything and then some.  Such a great honor and a memory that will last a lifetime. 

Walk back to hotel chanting USA the entire way and we have some kids on cloud nine.  Well deserved.  Off to bed as we have games tomorrow.
