Amazing day on tour and a day we won't soon forget.
Breakfast at 8 and 9 am departure for Terezin Concentration Camp.
Terezin was a fortress from the 1700s and then was a prison and penitentiary before World War 2 and became a concentration camp for the Germans. We had a guided tour and it was somber, emotional, quiet, intriguing, shocking, etc. Lots of pictures that don't say as much as the tour did but it was most educational. A History buff of sorts, I usually try and show the kids some culture of where we are visiting but this trip really was special. The kids quiet shuffling around the camp and intent listening to the speaker spoke volumes to me and spent over 2 hours on the grounds. Some good questions and then some time to reflect. Always good to learn from our past.
After we returned we had lunch, a Czech specialty, Dumplings and beef/mushrooms, which was awesome.
Light afternoon training and then start to pack up for transfer day tomorrow.
Quit training just in time too as it poured again.
Dinner at 6:30 and another Czech specialty, Schnitzel and potatoes. We are eating great here. During dinner, Nicky, our lovely guide, requested a night of her suggestions and I agreed so the kids are in non SnS gear for the first time, playing cards, games, listening to music, some dressed in jeans, some in nice clothes, and what a great relaxing evening together.
Its be a fabulous trip to Prague, Czech Republic, and one that I want to revisit soon.
Long day tomorrow and starts with early breakfast so kids have their phones tomorrow for the transfer so I am sure you will hear from them.
Good night,
Ciao
