July 21 - transfer day from Gothia to Dana
Midnight ferry, sounds fun, but its exhausting. We started out on deck thinking we can sleep under the stars, but it got cold and misty so we moved inside and just could not get comfortable. 3 and 1/2 hours of this and then another hour on a bus, arriving at Dana Cup School around 5am. We have to get our mattresses, sheets, pillows, arrange our rooms, etc, and finally get to bed about 5:30. I let the kids sleep until 11:30, walk to grocery store to buy food for lunch and dinner, and then a great workout from 3-5:30pm.
Dinner in our rooms, walk around the complex, and some late night training until 10:30 pm as kids practiced juggling and pks. Iits awesome when the sun is up at 3:30 and down around 11:30 pm, makes for long days. Curfew at 11 pm tonight and end of a long day, but great weather again and the kids are all bonding quite well. Our accommodations are 1 team per classroom, so patience is on the agenda for this week.
Monday we have some more training, possible friendly matches, etc, and opening ceremony Monday night. Hjorring is a very small town but loves the annual Dana Cup as it brings a wealth of economic boosts to the town. Teams from all over the world converge here and this year is no exception.
Attaching some cool pics of the kids so enjoy
Ciao
