WoW, what a day!!!
Started like the rest, breakfast, light training, but cold today, around 65 or so, but great weather for training.
And then the big time comes, we take a bus to Borussia Park, which is the home of Borussia Mochengladbach, a Bundesliga team, to watch our USA girls play in the Women's World Cup vs. France. What an atmosphere and what a game. Kids are dressed in their sweats but underneath is our SnS jerseys and when they take off their jackets, all around us clap and chant USA, etc.
Raining and cold, about 55 but we are covered. Kids chant, make posters, etc. I think we are on TV a lot as we get lots of texts that people have seen us. One of those memories that these kids will remember for many years to come.
It's my first semi final in any world cup and it was great. Definately an American crowd as we way outnumber the French, thank goodness.
We walk back in the rain to the bus but no one feels the rain drops as we are on cloud nine. 3-1, USA wins and we were there to witness it. We took pics as well and I will post these soon, I promise.
Back to hostel for late dinner and off to bed, if we can sleep.
Ciao,
Ed
