This was a banner day for Stars 'n Stripes. We trained in the morning in light rain, actually we have had rain most mornings and hot weather in the afternoon so pretty good but today was spectacular.

After training we went to Kaiserslauten or K-town as the armed forces call it, for the US vs. Italy game. No, we had no tickets but you have to have faith as all 13 of us got into the game and as most of you can attest what a game it was. What an atmosphere and the kids were all inspired and excited to be there. Hard to describe but everybody has to experience a World Cup atmosphere in this setting. The kids will never forget this the rest of their lives.

After the game we walked through town singing and chanting with all of the other fans and spent some time in the fan zone before we left for a hotel for the night. Rather than drive back through the night we spent a night in a local hotel. Not sure how much sleep the kids will have tonight as they are on cloud nine. Tomorrow we have our friendly games vs. the local German teams.
