Sunshine and dry at Gothia today and another good day. Girls won a very physical game 1-0, still not playing great but a sleeping giant as they show some signs of playing better. Kristine weaver scored off a corner kick to seal the win.
Boys C continued their spunky roll as they won 2-0. Tyler Lecocq got us on the board first and then Eddie Puskarich placed a penalty kick to secure their second win in as many days. These young boys are really taking in the entire experience. The Boys A team once again played a tough game in their group of death as they played a terrific team from Zambia. We lost 1-0 but played very well and learned a lot. The Zambians were fantastic sports and their play and post game chants were a sight to see. By far the best team we have seen in quite awhile.Tomorrow will tell if the teams advance or not. Walking all over Gothenburg and taking trains and trams around town.
The kids are great. Rooms are even clean as well. Food has once again been very good. Hopefully tomorrow we can have more success. So far, 5 wins and 1 loss for Gothia cup. Have to also tell you that Ed and Chad met Sven Goran Erickson, national coach for England, and had time for us Americans as we talked soccer for awhile. Great thrill to meet such a soccer genius.
See you tomorrow,
POD - Girls - =Katlin Sperl, Boys A - Mike Dardanes, Boys C - Ryan Stitts
Thanks,
Ed
